So this is a summing up of all the happinings in the last....year? :) Dan and I both graduated from Utah State, I in Elementary Education , and Dan in Agriculture Technology. Yes we both agree, there are people that go to schol for 7 years, and they are called doctors....oh well! We finished right? I graduated in June and Dan graduated in December. Dan is working for IFA in Lavan and I work at Fillmore Elementary. We are living full time in Holden, next door to Dan's parents. Its fun and the best part is when I've had it up to my neck with Mailon, I can send him away for a few minutes. Its a win win, Mailon gets spoiled, and I get a breather :)
In June we had a the sweetest little baby come to our house! Ian Leifson Stevens. He was sweet the day he was born and has been the same ever since. We recently saw the mean side when he had to stay in the hospital because of RSV, but he wasn't that bad. I would be mad too if I had to wear an oxygen mask.
We are working on the house, and hopefully changing the lime green carpet soon. It will be a process, but if we never have to move again, I would love it!
Mailon's love is cows and tractors. His favorite thing is to go feed cows with Dad and Grandpa, he learns from them exactly how to do it. He yells at me and tells me how when I go out with Dan. He's bossy, but he just wants to see those cows being taken care of. He loves his little brother and is such a helper! I love to see his sweet side when he is with Ian.
Ian, like I said is a sweet baby, he is tall and big like his dad. His laugh is so soft and sweet and when you hear that and see two dimples on his cheeks you can help but to melt and want to give him eerything he has ever wanted!
Our life is blessed! Hopefully this will be the beginning of more updates.

So this november was a good month. Mailon is taking a few steps, I give him a couple of more weeks and we have a walker on our hands. I'm excited but scared about the pending new arrangement of the pitter patter of little feet throughout the house. Dan and I also found out that we are expecting again. We thought about it for a few months and were really back and forth on the subject, then we prayed and decided that it was the right thing to do, and we tried and it worked out. I'm so excited about it all I'm hoping everything goes alright, and we will get it together. We are working on the final papers for the house loan, and really getting excited about that. I hope we get the government grant money to try to put together the house a little bit before we get it. There are a lot of things that need doing, but I suppose we have our whole life to do it. I'm worried that I still haven't found out where i'm student teaching, but also so ready to be out of logan and and a little bit more settled.
I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that people will always have advise, they will always think you aren't doing the right thing, or be judging because they would do things different. However I'm feeling better about being my own person with my own family, and I'm the women and nurturer in my home, and if the lord didn't think that I couldn't do it, then he wouldn't have blessed me with a family, so that is that. I need to be more confident in that but I'm making it.
I'm really hoping that the upcoming thanksgiving holidays will be a good and happy experience where we leave feeling uplifted, and not stressed out. Cross our fingers, holiday's can be messy sometimes, but I think it will turn out great!!

FINALLY SUMMER!!! so finals are over, and we are headed to Holden in a week! I'm so ready for a little bit of a break, just work, house, and Mailong! Well I am taking one class a week over in Delta, but its all good! Anyways! I'm so excited! its going to be great! So far 3 A's woot woot! Here are some fun updates of Mailon!

So Mailon is a crawler and is now sitting up! He's such a fantastic baby, i'm too afraid to have another, what if they all aren't as good as him! He loves to watch his Baby Einstiens, and Emperors New Groove! Its been a pretty busy semester, but having him and seeing all the growing that he is doing has totally made everything so much more enjoyable. I can't wait for summer and for him to go exploring! Yay!

Soo...Its been a pretty crazy past couple of weeks. Dan's truck started on fire near the garage. There was a ton of smoke damage, so we had to move all our stuff out so they could clean, and fix what they needed to fix. We've been living in everyone elses houses since. I'm pretty burned out. I was so excited for spring break so I could relax and get things organized before I had to go back to school. Whatever...I ended up moving all week. So I started school unprepared, and I'm so ready to be done after only 1 week and a day back. Mailon isn't sleeping at other peoples houses...so I feel like I haven't slept in over 2 years, and i'm so disorganized, i don't even know where I am in school....blah!!! Hopefully it will all be over soon. I haven't complained once, but its really getting to me.
ANYWAYS!! on a lighter note! I've got some new pictures coming. Mailon is making his way around the floor, and really starting to get up on his knees. He has TWO NEW TEETH! I'm so happy about it, well becuase I know why he's been so crabby! He looks adorable with those little teeth right on the bottom. He's not a newborn anymore...he's a full blown baby! He is just growing and growing! WE LOVE LOVE LOVE him, and are so happy that he is so healthy! I'll add some more pictures in the next week or so! so keep a lookin for 'em!

I may become a blogging addict, its 11 pm and I know that I should probably be getting to bed cause I have to start lame school tomorrow. But I was just laying there feeding mailon, and I just can't help to feel so blessed for the little surprises that keep coming our way. I suppose sometimes I get so stressed about money,school and family and all that goes along with it that I don't take time to really appreciate the blessings that I have. I read the blog that steph put up on her blog, and I think how lucky I am, even though things are crazy right now, I get to see this little spirit grow up, and I get to be with him when he wakes up every morning smiling, I get to see all the times he discovers something new. Its one of those take a step back and really look at all you have moments. It humbled me and made me appreciate what I have the opportunity to do with my life. -Jos

Its been awhile

So I know I know...I haven't blogged in ages....i'm kinda bad at these things. So we'll start where we left off. Its been different getting adjusted to a new little guy in our home. Its been some crazy guessing games as to what he wants..and just when we think everything is all figured out well, it changes. Dan finished up the semester with some pretty decent grades...and I finish up with some pretty dec grades too. We both only have about 2 semesters left, we are so looking foreward to getting it done and over with. And pretty much that sums up the last too months so...i bet your glad I didn't bore you with, getting used to the baby, and finishing up school for the semester.
So on to Thanksgiving, we went to Reno to visit the my parents for the break. It was a blast! Being with the family was awesome, and gas was cheap again, what more could we ask for. My mom is getting funnier and funnier as she gets older, and I can't help to think that my 2 sisters at home get away with soooo much more than we ever did. We played the wii, we ate the food, and then we went gambling..ya we lost 10 dollars..but it was sorta fun. Jen (my sister) and I were playing the penny slots, and when we both won 5 cents we were like "oooo" at the same time...it was way funny, we couldn't be more mormon.
Then it was back to logan for the last two weeks of the semester...and then a little break before we went down to holden for christmas. We relized that the other kids may wonder why Mailon didn't get anything from santa...so we gave a little talk to santa, and Mailon got a few things (not sure if all the readers know...you know). Anyways Mailon was spoiled. Cause Dan and I got a car...we didn't go all out, I know Dan was way excited when he got all the things that he wanted like a sweater for work,and some jeans...:). My mother in law got me and awesome purse...i'm lovin it! My mom and dad got us a new video camera so...we'll have to upload some videos for you all to see.
Thats about it...new years was new years and now we're back in logan getting organized for another semester...dan is going to be a stay at home kinda guy, possibly clean a little? not sure, while I go to school full time. Hope it all works out! Anyways...sorry we missed Brett and Suz! But we'll get together sometime soon! love you all -Jos and Dan

The little guy is finally here!!!

So its been a month and no blogging, well because there was nothing to blog about, unless you wanted to hear about all the movies Josalyn rented and watched. ANYWAYS the little guy finally made it. Mailon Turner Stevens was born on October 17th, around 5:30 pm, he weighed 7 lbs 12 oz, and is 21 inches long. Its so exciting and scary all at the same time!
So our blog that was a month ago the Doctor said anytime now. I was excited until I went a week overdue. So she scheduled us for an induction. They told us to call on friday morning at around 6 or 6:30 in the morning, and they would schedule us in. I was debating on calling at exactly 6 because I didn't want to seem too anxious, and then I thought about it, I am. So we went in at 7:30 started the pitocin at eight, and was asking for the epidural around 10:30. We thought things were progressing pretty good, becuase the contractions were really strong, after a whole day of giving more and more pitocin, there wasn't any significant change.
So at 5:00 Dr. Blackett came in and checked how things were going. It seems the my hips aren't the seperating kind, and the babies head was just pushing down on them all day. So we decided to do a C-section, well there wasn't really a decision that was all the we can do to get him out. So they dressed Dan up in scrubs with the longest pants they could find, that were still 3 inches too short, numbed me up and wheeled us into the O.R. I won't lie we were both pretty freaked out! Our Doctor was awesome, and the anesthesiologist was fantastic, not in the way that Suzie is thinking ;)! He gave us a play by play of what was going on and really talked us through it! Finally he came out and was in the world!! We were both so excited! He go cleaned up, we both held him, got some pictures, and Dan, Mailon, and the nurses went to bath the baby, and give him shots and get him going in this world. They stitched me up, sent me to recovery, and after an hour or so we met upstairs.
The past couple few days have been good for our little famiy, we are growing up together, its really exciting!
There will definately be more pictures, but we lost the chord that connects the camera to the computer, so when we finally get out and get one there will be more!!

Sooo! We went to the Dr. today, Dr. Mcshady said anytime now! But...because she's Dr. Mcshady, it could be anytime like any day now, or any time like any week now.... I've made an executive decision, I'm prayin for the pain. I thought about it and started thinking that praying for labor is like praying for a car, probably not that good. But then I decided, why not, the lord knows what I want anyway right, he can either give it to me or tell me to read Job or something ;). Anyways it is coming soon! We'll let you all know! - Jos

Birthing Class Dropouts!
We went to our first birthing class yesterday, and learned all the things your supposed to learn about having a baby. Dan, is now "Mr. Baby-Man", is convinced he already learned everything that was in the class, on the farm. Well no need for a Doctor, lets just do this thing el natural at home right? ....probably not going to happen.
Anyways about thing birthing class. She was kind of a hippy, and if there was any thought in our minds of any pain killers, we are pretty much rotten parents. I mean tylonal was even axed on her list of does and don'ts. She's one tough lady. I'm sure after seeing someone get hit by a car, she'd tell them to walk it off. However our Doctor is great, she's all about the epidural and loved it when she had her kids. So I'm a fan of the Doctor. She's great....even though I call her Dr. McShady, cause I kinda like to be in charge and know when things are happening, or I turn into the owner and operator of my own "Worriers R us", but since its impossible to tell us when exactly the baby is going to come, and what to expect, I call her Dr. McShady. She's not even a bit shady,...but I know she's keeping something from us :).
Dan is working hard at school, he has yet to skip a class! I don't know what it was, but maybe the baby thing made him more determined to do better! He had a test yesterday, or as dan calls them "this thing where you put answers on a paper", he felt like he did good! so cross our fingers. He likes working out on the farm and he works with some pretty crazy characters. We hang out with his freind Jason, and his girlfreind April, every once and awhile. They are way fun people. We really only get to hang out with them on Thursday nights, cause Dan doesn't have class on Friday mornings, so he calls it the party night! ....Not that there is much partying going on, but we do go to bed maybe after 11 p.m., we are such rebels.
Since we had the birthing class, we didn't go home to Holden this weekend, we are gonna have to hit up the ward here, I'm kinda happy that our neighbors know us, well me from when I went to Snow, so they don't try to convert us, like our neighbors last year. The previous neighbors were a little bummed when they walked in the house and saw a picture of the temple. They were nice people though. ANYWAY...enough of all that! Hope all is well with everyone else

Well this is the first blog, and what better way to start out the new school year. We are back in Logan! Dan started school on Monday, we are shootin for all A's this semester :).
We went to the Doctor Tuesday, she said everything is lookin good, we start our weekly visits in two weeks. I guess that means that time is getting close. Dan is really excited for a boy in the house, but little does he know they aren't the rough kind of fun for a long while :).
We are slowly getting the house together this week. Its been kinda hard to want to work all day without stopping and napping after I complete something. We've only got a few odds and ends to get together and then I can feel like we are done. But until then I'll lay awake at night worrying about the things that I didn't finish.
Dan is working for the Kunzlers again, he like it out there and he has made some good freinds. They are good people to work for and Dan's all about the work. I've been making Jam, and canning this week. I've never done it before but it seems to be going ok. That is until we try to eat the stuff. Well I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers.
